A man was found injured in a marsh after being hit by a semi truck while fleeing police in Maine on Sunday night.
The incident happened on September 28th along Interstate 95 in Biddeford, Maine.
According to ABC 8, 39-year-old Jared Felling was fleeing police as they investigated car burglaries nearby when he ran onto Interstate 95 near mile marker 32. As he ran across the roadway, Felling was struck by an oncoming tractor trailer, causing serious injuries to his legs.
The truck driver in the incident says that he initially thought he hit a deer, but realized it was a person after reviewing his dash cam footage. The driver then called Portland Police to report the incident, and the State Police were notified around 8:30 p.m.
State Troopers later found Felling injured in a marsh with substantial injuries to his legs. He was also reportedly in the early stages of hypothermia. He was taken to a nearby hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries.
Felling has been accused of robbing vehicles, removing his ankle monitor, and violating the terms of a previous, conditional release.
