Two men were arrested and released more than two weeks after fleeing a fatal I-35 crash with a small bus armed with an AK style rifle.
The accident happened on July 17th near San Antonio, Texas, leaving five people dead and 13 injured. Four men in a Camaro fled the scene armed with an AK style rifle. Two men were taken into custody on Saturday, August 2nd.
According to KSAT 12, 21-year-old Eric Perez and 18-year-old Matthew Espinosa were caught on security camera stealing the Camaro two days before the fatal crash. They were only two of the four men seen fleeing from the crashed car after the accident.
Both men are charged with burglary of vehicles, a misdemeanor. Perez is also charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a felony; while Espinosa is charged with failure to identify himself.
Perez has been released on $12,500 bond and Espinosa has been released on $5,000. No information on the two other men believed to have fled the crash armed with an AK style rifle has been released.
