The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) shared dash cam video from a semi truck police pursuit that resulted in multiple charges issued to the truck driver.
The video was captured on September 30, 2025, in Chippewa County, Michigan.
Police received calls about a tractor trailer running vehicles off the road and running stop signs on Mackinac Trail near 6 Mile Road.
A CCSO Sergeant located the truck at the intersection of M-28 and Mackinac Trail. The truck driver refused to pull over and drove east for several miles.
“The Semi was observed running off the road and oncoming traffic had to pull off to avoid a head-on crash. The Semi failed to stop at M-129 and M-28 and continued East bound. The pursuit never exceeded 60mph. The Semi did cross intersections without slowing down or stopping. The Chippewa County Undersheriff was able to pass the Semi and block the intersection at 9 Mile and Riverside Drive just in front of the pursuit. The intersection was blocked to warn oncoming traffic and in hopes the Semi would stop. The driver of the Semi slammed on the brakes and stopped on 9 Mile Road and Riverside Drive,” CCSO said.
After the pursuit, police administered sobriety tests, which the driver of the truck failed.
Charges issued to the truck driver, who was not named by CCSO, include:
