Minnesota truck dealer funds local truckers’ Christmas shopping trip to gift to kids in need

Truckers in Minnesota headed out on a shopping trip this month to buy gifts for kids in need thanks to a local truck dealer’s contributions.

Ascendance Truck Centers in Duluth, Minnesota partnered with the Toys for Tots campaign and a fleet of local truckers to provide for the needy children late last week.

According to Northern News Now, the truck dealer has been helping donate Christmas toys to children in need for decades.

“We’ve been doing this as part of Mid-State Truck Service and Ascendance has kept on with the role, 17 years this year.“ said Mike Cooper, Operations Manager of Ascendance Truck Centers.

“We’re a family-owned company and they always taught us don’t just work in the community and play in the community but help the community and that’s what we’re trying to do here tonight is just help everybody.”

Not only were the toys selected by a team of truckers during the shopping trip, but the gifts will be loaded onto a semi truck before they are hauled to the Duluth Salvation Army.
