More than 1,300 commercial vehicles inspected during five day campaign in New Mexico

New Mexico State Police (NMSP) recently took part in a commercial vehicle campaign focusing on “Border Enforcement Inspections and Traffic Enforcement.”

From September 15 through September 19, 2025, NMSP’s Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Bureau took part in an operation in Las Cruces, Deming, and the surrounding area.

“The focus of this operation was Border Enforcement Inspections and Traffic Enforcement. The effort was a success in keeping New Mexico roadways safe and reducing commercial vehicle crashes. The CVE Bureau addressed critical safety equipment violations and hazardous traffic violations involving commercial vehicles,” NMSP said.

  • 1,335 Commercial Vehicle Safety Inspections
  • 72 Hazmat Inspections
  • 679 Roadside Border Enforcement Inspections
  • 47 Commercial Vehicles were placed Out-of-Service
  • 37 Commercial Vehicle Drivers placed Out-of-Service
  • 287 Traffic Enforcement Inspections
  • 280 Total Citations issued

The NMSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Bureau is made up of the CVE Strike Team, Transportation Inspectors, and Compliance Review Team.
