A motorist faces multiple charges for a crash with a commercial vehicle reportedly caused by street racing, Arizona authorities said.
At 7:30 p.m. on October 4, 2025, the AZDPS Highway Patrol responded to a reported crash on eastbound AZ-202 at the AZ-101 junction during which “a street racer [was] pancaked between a CMV and a hard place.”
During the crash, troopers said that “the passenger vehicle became wedged between the commercial vehicle and the barrier wall.”

The motorist only sustained minor facial injuries.
Multiple witnesses told AZDPS that the passenger vehicle driver had been engaged in street racing with a second, unidentified motorist immediately prior to the crash with the commercial vehicle.
The passenger vehicle driver was charged with criminal street racing, reckless driving, and endangerment.
“Street racing and reckless driving are extremely dangerous, not just for the driver but everyone on the road. This driver was lucky,” said AZDPS.
