Motorist freed himself from impalement after crashing into back of semi truck 

A motorist freed himself after crashing into a semi truck and getting impaled on a chain link fence on Tuesday morning. 

The accident happened on August 19th at about 5 a.m. near Modesto, California. 

According to Fox 40, a car was traveling on South 9th Street when it crashed into the back of a semi truck. The car then veered into a chain link fence, which pierced the vehicle and caused the motorist to become impaled on a fence post. 

First responders arrived to find that the man had already freed himself from impalement by removing the fence post himself. Firefighters provided advanced life support to the man, who was promptly transported to a hospital by ambulance for treatment. 

An official condition for the motorist has not been released, but someone claiming to be the cousin of the motorist commented on the post by the Modesto Fire Department, stating that the man underwent surgery but is expected to be okay. 

No further information on the crash has been released.
