Multi-agency CMV inspection blitz in Colorado nets 137 citations in nine hours

Several Colorado law enforcement agencies recently partnered for a commercial vehicle enforcement detail.

The nine-hour operation took place on February 20, 2025, at five fixed and mobile Port of Entry locations in Colorado for the purpose of addressing “critical safety violations, Port of Entry compliance, and impaired driving” among commercial vehicle drivers.

Participating law enforcement agencies included Fort Collins Police Services (FCPS), Colorado State Patrol and Port of Entry, Larimer County Sheriff’s Office, Timnath Police Department, and Windsor Police Department.

According to FCPS, 3,800 commercial vehicles traveled through the five check points during the single day operation, netting the following results:

“This was a successful enforcement operation which highlights the partnership that Northern Colorado law enforcement shares to make our communities safer,” said Sergeant David Lindsay, who supervises FCPS Traffic Enforcement Unit. “Enforcement initiatives like these allow us the opportunity to focus attention on specific behavior while providing a united message of commercial transport safety.”
