$37 million truck parking facilities open along I-65 in Indiana

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announced the opening of newly constructed truck parking facilities along I-65 in Boone County.

Lebanon Truck Parking Facilities Now Open

On August 29, 2025, INDOT opened truck parking facilities on I-65 northbound and southbound near mile marker 148 near Lebanon, Indiana.

Officials say that the $37 million facilities feature a total of 150 truck parking spaces and restrooms.

INDOT says that the facilities are intended primarily for use by professional truck drivers.

INDOT To Add 1,200 Truck Parking Spots

The Lebanon truck parking facilities are part of a larger INDOT project to spend $600 million on improvements to 21 welcome centers, and truck parking facilities, by the end of 2034.

“These are the second and third truck parking facilities we’ve opened as part of INDOT’s rest area and welcome center improvement plan,” said INDOT Commissioner Lyndsay Quist. “This is progress toward helping alleviate parking shortages faced by the freight and logistics industries across the state.”

“Part of INDOT’s plan is to add more than 1,200 additional semitruck parking spaces over the next several years,” said Matt Ubelhor, Secretary of Transportation and Infrastructure. “This will nearly double the current capacity on the existing network, providing safe options for drivers to stop, rest, and recharge.”
