The New Jersey State Police (NJSP) is asking for public help in gathering information on a multiple fatality collision on the New Jersey Turnpike over the weekend.
Troopers say that the crash occurred at 12:40 a.m. on October 19, 2025, in Salem County, New Jersey.
A white 2021 Dodge Ram pickup truck was northbound in the southbound lanes of travel of the New Jersey Turnpike at the same time that a black Mazda CX-5 was traveling southbound in the southbound lanes, police said.
Near mile marker 1.3 in Carneys Point Township, the two vehicles collided head-on, sending the Mazda into the path of a semi truck traveling in the right lane behind the Mazda.
Four people traveling inside the Mazda were killed in the crash. All four victims were males between the ages of 18 and 19.
According to NJ.com, the truck driver, a 29 year old resident of Canada, was not injured.
The Dodge Ram pickup driver, later identified as Christopher Neff, 41, of Colorado, suffered serious injuries and was hospitalized.
On Monday, October 20, the NJSP put out a call for information on the crash. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or observed the Dodge Ram pickup traveling in the wrong direction is asked to contact NJSP’s Troop “D” Moorestown Station at 609-860-9000 ext. 3226.
