Ohio DOT video shows dump truck with raised bed striking and collapsing highway sign on I-70

Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) traffic cameras captured the moment that a dump truck with a raised bed struck an overhead highway sign.

The sign strike took place around 3:30 p.m. on November 20, 2025, on westbound I-70 at the Livingston Avenue exit in Columbus, Ohio.

Video captured by ODOT shows a dump truck striking the sign with its raised bed and then continuing west on I-70, where it reportedly struck a second sign before the driver pulled off onto the shoulder. The second sign strike happens off camera, but you can see the damaged sign in frame after the dump truck pulls off the interstate.

No injuries were reported.

The incident closed westbound I-70 for several hours, but all lanes reopened shortly after 8 p.m.
