Ohio State Highway Patrol shares video of trooper’s close call with a semi truck on U.S. 35 as a reminder to move over

The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) shared dash cam and body cam video from a recent crash that occurred during a traffic stop on U.S. 35.

The video was captured in Jackson County, Ohio, and shared by OSHP on August 8, 2025.

A trooper was conducting a traffic stop on U.S. 35 when “a semi-truck struck the stopped vehicle and came dangerously close to hitting him.”

No injuries were reported.

“This incident underscores a vital message: When approaching emergency or roadside service vehicles with flashing lights, always reduce your speed and change lanes when it is safe to do so. This simple action saves lives,” said OSHP.
