Ohio traffic cams catch car cutting off truck to make exit, causing messy watermelon spill

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) shared video of a car driver’s reckless cut-off maneuver that resulted in a major melon spill this week.

The video was captured on September 15 near I-71 at I-275.

“Feeling melon-choly? Yeah…us too, after watching this driver who decided to dangerously merge across multiple lanes just to make their exit when there are HUNDREDS MORE. Do not be this driver!!!” ODOT said.

The truck driver brought their vehicle to a safe stop, but the incident resulted in the truck’s load of watermelons spilling out onto the roadway.

No one was injured.

“The semi driver, hauling a load of watermelons, was very attentive and avoided a crash, but there was a big mess to clean up,” said ODOT’s Matt Bruning.
