This week, the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) shared body cam and dash cam video from a pursuit that led to the arrest of a truck driver earlier this year.
On October 9, 2025, OSHP shared the video below on the agency’s official social media channels. The video was captured on June 5, 2025.
CDLLife reached out to OHSP for more context on the incident. See the October 10 response from the agency below:
“On June 5, just after 11:00 p.m., a trooper from the Canfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol conducted a traffic stop on a 2014 Freightliner Cascadia tractor-trailer combination for a marked lanes violation on Interstate 76 near mile post 57 in Austintown Township, Mahoning County. The Freightliner failed to stop and continued traveling west for 11 miles. The trooper positioned himself in different positions to get the drivers attention, including activated overhead lights and sirens. The Freightliner activated his emergency hazard lights before exiting to state Route 225 into a nearby fuel station. The Freightliner continued around the back of the fuel station to the diesel pumps. The trooper exited his cruiser and gave verbal commands over his speaker for the driver to exit the tractor, which the driver failed to do.
With other assisting units on scene, law enforcement officers approached the Freightliner, ordering the driver out of the vehicle. The driver continued to fail to comply. Troopers attempted to enter the Freightliner, but it was locked. A window was broken and troopers gained access to the Freightliner – ordering the driver out. He continued to fail to comply. The driver was escorted out of the vehicle onto the ground. He continued to fail to comply and resisted arrest. A TASER was deployed and the driver, identified as Brandon Coleman, 30, Waldorf, Mary., was taken into custody without further incident.
Coleman was medically cleared. He was then transported to the Mahoning County Jail and incarcerated for Obstructing Official Business, a misdemeanor, and Failure to Comply with the Order or Signal of a Police Officer, a felony.
This incident remains under investigation by the Canfield Post.”
