The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) shared dash cam and body cam video of a semi truck striking the mirror of a car that was pulled over by a trooper as a reminder to move over for emergency vehicles.
OSHP said on November 26 that the video was captured on I-75 North in Wapakoneta, Ohio.
Troopers say that a passing semi truck struck the mirror of a pulled-over vehicle after the truck driver failed to move over or slow down.
“This was a split second that could have seriously injured our trooper or those pulled over in the vehicle,” OSHP said. “This is more than a law, it’s a lifesaving choice. When you see flashing lights of any color, move over or slow down.”
