Oregon cops share dash cam of Kia driver suspected of intentionally striking motorcyclist

Published:

The Beaverton Police Department (BPD) has shared dash cam video in hopes of locating a motorist who struck a motorcyclist and then fled the scene.

Police say that the incident occurred at 6:16 a.m. on May 5 on westbound Highway 26, between Highway 217 and Cedar Hills Boulevard, in Beaverton, Oregon.

The driver of a blue late-model Kia Carnival and a motorcycle rider were involved in a road rage interaction that resulted in the Kia sideswiping the motorcycle and causing the rider to lose control.

The Kia driver fled the scene.

The motorcycle rider sustained serious injuries.

“Investigators believe the driver of the Kia’s actions were intentional,” BPD said.

Police are actively seeking the Kia driver, who is described as a white male, approximately 30 – 40 years of age, with a black beard.

If you have information, you’re asked to call Officer Nick Coplin with the Beaverton Police Department at 971-253-9710 or through our non-emergency line at 503-629-0111.
