Overheight truck driver ticketed for striking two New York State Thruway bridges, troopers say

New York State Police (NYSP) recently cited a truck driver who struck two bridges along the New York State Thruway.

At 10:32 a.m. on August 9, 2025, NYSP Troopers responded to eastbound I-90 in Florida, New York, for a reported bridge strike.

According to NYSP, Nebraska-based truck driver Rohan R. Webb, 43, was hauling an excavator on a flatbed trailer, when the excavator collided with the Snooks Corners Road and the Fort Hunter Road overpasses.

An uninvolved gray Mazda driven by Alynn L. Underriner, 40, struck the debris from the bridge strikes.

No injuries were reported.

Webb was issued tickets for vehicle and traffic violations, NYSP said in a news release.

Officials said on August 12 that the Snooks Corners Road overpass has been repaired and is in the process of reopening. The Fort Hunter Road overpass has been repaired and reopened.
