The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced truck travel restrictions for several roadways starting on Tuesday morning.
With a winter storm expected to bring up to six inches of snow Monday night into Tuesday, PennDOT announced the following travel restrictions:
Effective at 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, Tier 3 travel restrictions will be in place on the following roadway:
I-380, entire length
Under Tier 3 restrictions, no commercial vehicles are permitted EXCEPT loaded single trailers with chains or approved Alternate Traction Devices. Additionally, all school buses, commercial buses, motor coaches, motorcycles, RVs/motorhomes and passenger vehicles (cars, SUVs, pickup trucks, etc.) towing trailers are not permitted on affected roadways while restrictions are in place.
Effective at 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, Tier 1 travel restrictions will be in place on the following roadways:
Under Tier 1 restrictions, the following vehicles are not permitted on affected roadways:
Speed limits will be restricted to 45 mph on these roadways for all vehicles while the vehicle restrictions are in place, and commercial vehicles not affected by the restrictions must move to the right lane, according to PennDOT.
