The person who crashed into a flatbed semi truck in an “apparent suicide attempt” in Tennessee on Thursday morning shot her family before the crash.
The incident happened on Thursday, December 18th in Dyer County, Tennessee.
According to Fox13Memphis, 60-year-old Sherry Darlene Lydon shot her husband, William Lydon Jr. as he slept, then shot her 24-year-old son. Lydon then drove away from the scene and crashed into a flatbed semi truck in an “apparent suicide attempt.”
Lydon was taken to the hospital after the accident and died of her injuries later that evening. Lydon’s husband died in the shooting and her son was seriously injured.
Lydon had reportedly undergone surgery prior to the incident, which left her with “night terrors, anxiety and sleep disturbances.”
“These factors are being considered as we continue to piece together the circumstances surrounding this tragic event,” the Dyer County Sheriff’s Office said.
