Police “expect” medical event killed driver found dead inside rig

A truck driver was found dead inside of his semi truck at a Texas truck stop on Monday. 

The truck driver was found at the Golden Express Travel Center at 8417 U.S. 81/287 North at 12:42 p.m on February 17th. 

According to The Wise County Messenger, 60-year-old Vladimir Maleandra of Roseville, California, was found unresponsive inside his semi truck cab. 

“Deputies responded to the scene to conduct an investigation, and there appears to be no foul play,” said Wise County Chief Deputy Eric Debus. “We’re still waiting on the medical examiner’s report, but I expect we’re going to find out it was natural causes or some type of medical event.”

The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office will perform the autopsy.
