A truck driver was arrested following a police pursuit near Beaver, Utah, on Thursday afternoon.
Around 3:30 p.m. on January 9, the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) received a call about a semi truck driving recklessly on I-70 at mile marker 67.
A deputy attempted to stop the semi truck on westbound I-70 near mile marker 25, but the driver reportedly failed to stop and continued operating erratically.
KSL reports that police used spike strips to try to stop the semi, but it continued driving onto I-15.
The police pursuit continued with the truck driving on its rims, producing a large amount of heavy black smoke.
The driver eventually brought the truck to a halt three miles north of Beaver.
Police placed the truck driver under arrest without incident.
No injuries were reported.
Following the police pursuit, the truck caught fire. The Beaver Fire Department responded to extinguish the blaze.
