The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is asking drivers to plan for the three month closure of an I-70 rest area in the northeastern part of the state.
Starting on February 10, the Arriba Rest Area at mile marker 383.3 on I-70 will close for renovations, including upgrading the failing plumbing system, adding efficient fixtures and completely remodeling the interior.
The rest area will be closed for 120 days and will reopen in June 2025, officials say.
CDOT says that the Arriba Rest Area will have dog relief areas, toilets, hand washing as well as spots for commercial and passenger vehicles when it reopens in June.
“The next closest rest area is in Burlington with spaces in Stratton and Limon also nearby,” CDOT stated.
