Sec. Duffy calls on CA, CO Governors to protect American citizens and stop “slow walking” non domicile CDL enforcement

Transportation Secretary Duffy called on the Governors of California and Washington to prioritize the safety of American citizens by enforcing the non-domicile CDL rules.

Duffy appeared on Fox News this week to explain that the federal government is already in the process of withholding funds from California, but they must give the state time to come into compliance. California says it will come into compliance, but Duffy says the federal government is not seeing that happen.

Duffy also accuses Colorado of “slow walking” the process of coming into compliance when it comes to non domicile CDL enforcement.

“They’re not pulling back licenses,” Duffy said.

“These governors – Look out for the American people,” he said. “Make sure you keep them safe. That is more important than putting an illegal who is not qualified behind the wheel of an 80,000 pound rig.”

“It’s very easy to just pull these licenses.. And they’re just slow walking. They don’t want to do it,” Duffy continued.

“Good government would be saying ‘I’m going to keep my roads safe, I’m going to keep my people safe’… You see governors who are on the side of the illegals instead of on the side of their citizens.”
