The second 200+ mile corridor of electric semi truck charging stations is now planned along Interstate 10 between Southern California and Phoenix.
The plan was launched on August 12th and marks the second commercial EV charging corridor to be set in motion by the company Greenlane. The first commercial EV corridor is planned for Interstate 15 between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, and already features one electric semi truck stop in Colton, California that was switched on in April. That route stretches about 280 miles.
The second corridor will run between Southern California and Phoenix, Arizona along Interstate 10 for just under 250 miles. For this route, Greenlane has partnered with Windrose Technology – an electric semi truck manufacturer.
“Our second corridor was strategically selected to best support the carriers and shippers who keep our economy moving,” said Patrick Macdonald-King, CEO of Greenlane. “Windrose’s remarkable achievements during testing demonstrate that our high-performance charging network can handle the most demanding freight operations, giving us confidence that this I-10 corridor will serve as a critical backbone for zero-emission freight. By establishing charging infrastructure along key transportation arteries, we’re providing the foundation fleets need to scale their electric operations.”
The company already has plans to build these electric changing stations in Blythe, California and in the greater Phoenix area.
