North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP) is investigating an injury crash involving a semi truck and a snow plow that happened on Wednesday.
The crash occurred at 3:30 p.m. on February 5 on Highway 2 near White Earth.
Troopers say that a North Dakota Department of Transportation snowplow was westbound on Highway 2 traveling in the right lane with the blade down. A passenger vehicle was traveling behind the plow.
A semi truck also traveling west on Highway 2 approached the snowplow and the passenger vehicle from the rear.
“The CMV braked and moved into the left lane. The CMV struck the guard rail, lost control, and then struck the DOT plow truck,” NDHP said.
The collision caused the plow to strike a guardrail and overturn.
The snowplow driver was hospitalized with serious injuries.
The truck driver was not hurt.
Troopers say they cited the truck driver for careless driving: snow removal equipment.
