A suspect shot two men before driving into a flatbed semi truck in an apparent suicide attempt on Thursday morning.
The incident happened early on Thursday morning, December 18th in Dyer County, Tennessee.
According to Fox 13 Memphis, deputies were initially called on reports of a shooting. One man died in the shooting while the other was rushed to a hospital in critical condition. Immediately following the shooting, the suspect drove away from the scene and drove head-on into a flatbed semi truck.
Police are calling the collision “an apparent attempt to commit suicide.” The suspect suffered life threatening injuries in the crash. No information on injuries sustained by the truck driver has been released.
The suspect was taken to a hospital for treatment. The incident is still under investigation, but police say that there is no ongoing threat to public safety. Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call the Dyer County Sheriff’s Office at 731-285-2802.
