The Tesla semi truck has already gotten a slight redesign and update before the true production of the electric CMV has even started.
The Tesla semi truck was first unveiled back in 2017, a full eight years ago. Since then, only prototypes have been delivered to companies that purchased the truck, like PepsiCo, and the electric CMV has not yet gone into full production. Now, Elon Musk is predicting full scale production to begin in 2026, yet another pushed-back prediction.
According to TeslaOracle, the Tesla semi truck has now gotten a slight redesign. The design changes seem largely aesthetic, with some potentially benefitting the functionality of autopilot. The new design features a headlight bar instead of two separate headlights, a flatter front trunk, and restructured bumper, and changes to the side profile.
“Starting next year, we’ll manufacture the Tesla Semi. We will start volume production at our Northern Nevada factory in 2026,” Musk has stated, adding that actual deliveries may not happen until mid 2026.
