The Texas Department of Public Safety is seeking the public’s help in identifying a semi truck that kept driving after striking a car during an unsafe lane change.
The accident happened at about 6:30 a.m. on October 21st in the northbound lanes of the Dallas North Tollway near Spring Creek Parkway in Plano, Texas.
According to ABC8, a white semi truck hauling a white dump trailer made an unsafe lane change and hit a Honda Civic, forcing the Honda into a concrete wall, where it overturned. A Ram 1500 pickup and a Toyota Camry then collided with the Honda. The semi truck did not stop.
The 47-year-old motorist in the Honda, 47-year-old Juan Quiroz, died at the scene.
The DPS is urging anyone who may have seen the crash, recognizes the truck, or has information about the truck driver to please come forward. The truck may have noticeable damage to the right side of its front bumper or to the front right fender.
Tips can be submitted anonymously by calling 877-373-8477 or by filing a report on the North Texas Crime Stoppers website. Anyone who submits a tip leading to the arrest and indictment of the truck driver may be offered up to $5,000.
