Three people were killed in a two vehicle collision along the New Jersey Turnpike on Sunday afternoon.
The crash occurred around 1:40 p.m. on December 7, 2025, along the New Jersey Turnpike in East Windsor Township.
An SUV driven by Elin R. Waithe, 44, parked on the right shoulder of the Turnpike near mile marker 64.6, according to Patch.com. Waithe was standing outside of the SUV while three passengers remained inside the vehicle.
Police said that Dmitriy I. Kara, 33, of Philadelphia, was driving a Peterbilt semi truck southbound on the New Jersey Turnpike when he went onto the right shoulder and struck the rear of the SUV.
Elin Waithe, Quacy Waithe, 47, and a juvenile passenger died as a result of the crash.
Kara suffered minor injuries.
The crash is under investigation.
