Three students dead in collision with U-turning tractor trailer, Florida Highway Patrol says

Florida police are investigating a multiple fatality crash that occurred near Panama City, Florida, on Monday night.

The crash occurred at 9:28 p.m. on April 21 on Highway 98 in Inlet Beach, Florida.

An SUV carrying four Massachusetts high school students was westbound on Highway 98 when it collided with a tractor trailer making a U-turn in the paved median of the highway, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash sent the SUV across the median and the eastbound lanes of Highway 98. The SUV came to rest near a tree line off the highway.

Eighteen year olds Jimmy McIntosh and Hannah Wasserman died on Monday night following the crash. Maisey O’Donnell, also 18, died on Tuesday.

A fourth passenger in the SUV suffered severe injuries.

The tractor trailer driver, a 19 year old from DeFuniak Springs, and tractor trailer passenger, a 23 year old from Panama City Beach, were uninjured in the crash.

The teens have been identified as students at Concord-Carlisle High School located in Concord, Massachusetts, according to WCBV.

The crash is under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
