Tractor trailer pushes car into side of truck repair shop

Published:

A semi truck crashed into the side of a truck repair shop in Pennsylvania on Tuesday, taking another car with it.

The accident happened just before 1 p.m. on January 21st at Penn Power Group in the 300 block of Sipe Road in Newberry Township, Pennsylvania.

According to WGAL, the tractor trailer struck a power pole and unoccupied car during the crash, pushing it into the truck repair shop building. First responders say that no one was hurt, but clearing the accident took nearly ten hours.

“It’s actually quite insane that there were no injuries given the impact and that it was an unoccupied vehicle. There was also another vehicle parked beside that one with an employee inside eating his lunch and he escaped with no injuries, nothing, no damage to his vehicle. Very, very lucky,” said Assistant Fire Chief Kyle Harbold, with the Newberry Township Fire Department.

Before moving the wrecked vehicles, firefighters had to wait to electric crews to arrive at the scene to deal with several wires exposed in the crash.

“Now you get an incident like this where we’ve been here since 12:58 and I still have the same people who were here originally who are willing to brave the cold and work on an incident like this,” Harbold said.

The exact reason for the crash has not been released.
