Law enforcement agencies across several states are teaming up for a traffic enforcement detail this weekend as part of the 6-State Trooper Project initiative.
From October 10 through October 12, 2025, state police agencies from Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia will join forces to conduct a traffic enforcement detail, with a goal of curbing crashes and reducing highway fatalities.
Troopers from each of the six states will increase patrols, looking for violations including speeding, seat belt usage, and impaired driving. with a goal of curbing crashes and reducing highway fatalities.
The 6-State Trooper Project is a multi-state partnership among state police agencies that targets specific traffic safety concerns through collaboration and high-visibility patrols.
The Kentucky State Patrol, a participating agency, offers the following driving tips as part of the 6-State Trooper Project effort:
- Obey the Speed Limit: Speeding reduces your ability to react and increases the severity of crashes.
- Buckle Up Every Time: Wearing a seat belt is the most effective way to protect yourself in a crash.
- Drive Sober: Never get behind the wheel if you are impaired. Call a friend, use a rideshare, or find another way home.
- Report Dangerous Driving: If you encounter a motorist driving aggressively or engaging in risky behavior, contact your local KSP Post or dial 911.
