Truck cab ripped apart in crash that shut down westbound I-80

A truck cab was ripped apart in a serious crash that shut down a part of Interstate 80 on Friday afternoon. 

The crash happened on Friday, November 7th on westbound I-80 near Alta, California at about 11:45 a.m. 

According to CBS News, the wreck also temporarily closed the eastbound lanes to allow emergency vehicles access to the scene. At least two semi trucks were involved.

Major injuries were reported, but no details have been released. 

Details regarding the cause of the crash have not been released.
