Truck crashes off SR 99 near Lodi, separating cab from semi trailer

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to an unusual semi truck crash near Lodi on Wednesday.

The crash occurred around 10 a.m. on April 23 on southbound State Route 99, north of Armstrong Road.

Waterloo Morada Fire District reported that “one semi truck that had driven off of the highway and landed into Pixley Slough.”

Images captured at the scene show the cab of the truck separated from the trailer and lying on its side below the highway.

Firefighters said that the truck driver self-extricated and that no one was hurt.

According to CHP’s Stockton Division, the crash required a Hazmat response.
