Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) recently arrested a man who allegedly stalked an employee at a truck stop in Smithton.
On August 12, 2025, Michael Lender, 34, was arrested and charged with stalking, harassment, and trespass by motor vehicle, according to the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office (WCDAO).
PSP responded to the truck stop worker’s residence on Horne Road in South Huntingdon Township after she reported that Lender had followed her home in a personal vehicle.
The truck stop worker told troopers that after she left for work, she noticed a black SUV following her home and into her driveway.
She reported that Lender had exited his vehicle and that she yelled at him to leave.
The WCDAO said that Lender had allegedly displayed concerning behavior leading up to the August 12 incident:
The victim works at Citgo’s truck stop in Smithton and relayed to troopers that Lender was a truck driver and a frequent customer.
Lender attempted to speak with the victim privately over the course of the last two years, but the victim declined.
The victim told investigators that Lender left a note with his number on her car, and attempted to pay the victim’s coworker $150 in exchange for the victim’s name and number.“
