Truck driver arrested after Arizona troopers find $187K in stolen copper in trailer, DPS says

The Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) Highway Patrol recently arrested a truck driver after finding “a stolen load” in the trailer.

On September 11, 2025, AZDPS “received a call about a semi carrying a stolen load from Dona Ana County in New Mexico.”

An AZDPS Highway Patrol Detective located the semi truck traveling westbound on I-10 outside of Eloy.

Troopers performed a traffic stop on the truck, and a load of stolen copper was discovered in the trailer.

The truck driver was arrested without incident.

Police say that they recovered $187,000 of goods during the traffic stop.
