Truck driver arrested on murder charges after running over fellow trucker at Love’s

A truck driver has been arrested for murder after running over a fellow trucker at a Love’s in Kansas on Wednesday evening. 

The incident occurred on August 13th at 5:22 p.m. in the 1500 block of E. 21st Street in Wichita, Kansas. 

According to KSN, a truck driver was run over by a fellow trucker in a parking stall at the Love’s. Police were called to the scene to find the driver fatally injured. 

“Right now, we are uncertain if it’s going to be criminal or an actual accident as to what occurred,” Wichita Police Department Lieutenant Doug Gerdes said.

46-year-old Travis Briscoe of Jenks, Oklahoma, has since been booked for unintentional but reckless second-degree murder. He is currently being held without bond in the  Sedgwick County Jail, reported KAKE.

Investigators say they are reviewing truck stop security footage and asking any truck drivers who were around at the time to submit their dash cam footage. Anyone with information on the incident is asked  to call 911 or contact Crime Stoppers by calling 316-267-2111.
