A truck driver lost his life after his load of steel beams shifted and went through the cab of his truck late Monday night in Nashville, Tennessee.
The crash occurred shortly before midnight on December 8, 2025, on westbound I-24 near the I-40 split in Nashville.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, a truck driver hauling two large steel beams “abruptly” applied the brakes due to slowed traffic on the interstate, causing the beams to break loose and enter the cab of the truck.
The truck veered left and came to rest against a retaining wall.
The truck driver died as a result of the crash.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash and no one else was injured.
According to police, the driver was “tentatively” identified as a 31 year old male Wisconsin resident.
The Medical Examiner’s Office is working to positively identify the driver.
