Truck driver faces DUI and open container charges after concerned citizens tip off CHP

A truck driver is facing alcohol-related charges after the California Highway Patrol (CHP) was tipped off by concerned citizens over the weekend.

On November 1, CHP responded after citizens reported a semi truck driver operating recklessly on Highway 99 in the Visalia, California, area.

Troopers were able to locate and stop the suspect semi truck.

“The driver was arrested for DUI and open container violations after officers discovered alcohol inside the cab of the truck,” CHP said.

Troopers are encouraging citizens to continue to report any dangerous driving behavior by calling 911.
