Truck driver found with several hundred rounds of ammunition after multiple shootings on I-83

A truck driver was found with several hundred rounds of ammunition in his cab after multiple reported shootings on Interstate 83 last week. 

The four reported shootings happened along I-83 in Pennsylvania and Maryland on June 18th between 10 p.m. and midnight. The arrest of 28-year-old truck driver Christian Ramos was announced by Maryland State Police on Friday, June 20th after a Thursday, June 19th arrest. 

According to Local 21 News, Ramos was identified as a suspect in a shooting that occurred just before midnight on June 18th involving a car heading south on I-83 with a 2-year-old in the car. No one was hurt in the shooting. Dashcam footage from the car was used to identify Ramos.

Police tracked Ramos to a TA Travel Center in Elkton, Maryland and placed him under arrest. During a search of his semi truck, police discovered a .45 caliber handgun, multiple shell casings, and several hundred rounds of ammunition. 

Police believe Ramos is connected to four shootings on June 18th, and officers are looking for more potential victims. Anyone who was on I-83 in Maryland or Pennsylvania on Wednesday evening with information on or footage of the shootings is asked to call the Maryland State Police Highway Gun Crimes Initiative at (410) 538-1887.
