Truck driver speared by forklift in fatal unloading accident 

A truck driver is dead after being struck by a forklift at a warehouse near the Sydney airport on Monday morning. 

The accident happened on September 22nd at about 5:30 a.m. at Menzies Aviation’s Matraville warehouse on Military Road in Sydney, Australia. 

According to 7 News, the 57-year-old truck driver was working at the facility when he was struck by the forklift in a fatal unloading accident. The truck driver suffered critical chest injuries and died at the scene. 

A crime scene was established and operations at the warehouse were shut down as investigators worked to determine the details of the accident. 

“This is a tragic day for everyone, especially the family of the truck driver,” a Menzies Aviation spokesperson said.

“We’re offering them our full support and compassion. Counselling has been made available to staff who were onsite when the accident occurred.”
