A real estate management company confirmed that it has evicted a Gainsville, Texas, truck stop tenant in the wake of allegations over employee compensation.
In a November 7 statement, Thirty-Five & Liberty announced that Trucker’s Paradise had been evicted from a property along I-35 in Gainesville, Texas.
According to a September 2025 report from KXII, several Trucker’s Paradise workers claimed that the company had failed to pay them. Company leadership responded by acknowledging that “one of our investors faced unforeseen personal circumstances that temporarily slowed the flow of funding.”
From Thirty-Five & Liberty:
“Recently, concerns have been raised regarding employee compensation issues involving one of our former tenants, Trucker’s Paradise. We want to make it clear that Thirty-Five & Liberty believes the fair and timely payment of employees is a fundamental business and ethical obligation.
After months of ongoing litigation, we have officially evicted Trucker’s Paradise, and we are deeply relieved to see this matter resolved. We recognize and share the community’s concern for the hardworking individuals affected and remain steadfast in ensuring that all businesses within our development operate responsibly and uphold high standards.“
Trucker’s Paradise issued a statement acknowledging the eviction and thanking the trucking community for their support:
“Truckers Paradise was founded with a simple but powerful belief: truck drivers deserve to be treated like royalty. Every day, truckers make incredible sacrifices — spending long stretches away from family, facing life-threatening hazards, and enduring health challenges — all to keep our country moving forward.
Despite our passion and dedication, unexpected delays and cost overruns created challenges that could not be overcome. The landlord acted appropriately when the company was unable to meet its obligations.”
Trucker’s Paradise was a repurposed outlet mall that was designed to provide truck drivers with upscale amenities. It opened for business in early November 2024 with claims to be America’s biggest travel center.
