A truck driver recently shared his uplifting interaction with a police officer who helped him find a safe parking spot instead of “just running me off.”
Driver Jason Holcomb shared his story on Facebook on October 1, 2025, and since then, the story has been liked more than 20,000 times.
Holcomb’s viral post describes how Officer Foster with the DeKalb Police Department went above and beyond to help him find a place to park his truck overnight.
“Got a knock on my door last night around 11, Officer Foster with the police said the owners didn’t want big trucks parking in their lot over night, I said yes sir, I told him I didn’t have enough time left on my clock to make it on in to Texarkana that’s why I stopped in here, he said follow me, he led me to a parking lot where they park their police units, he said you more than welcome to spend the night here,” Holcomb wrote.
“I wanted to give the DeKalb Police Department a huge recognition for helping me out and not just running me off last night. Thank You guys for a safe place to sleep,” Holcomb said. “Just for anyone wondering, YES, the next morning when I woke up, I made sure to walk in and Thank the Chief and mayor for what Officer Foster did for me, what he didn’t have to do but did anyway!”
