Trucker’s dash cam shows UPS cargo plane crash that killed at least nine in Louisville

A truck driver’s dash cam was rolling to capture a UPS cargo plane crash at an airport in Louisville, Kentucky, on Tuesday.

The crash occurred around 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4, shortly after a UPS cargo plane took off from Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport in Kentucky.

At least nine people died as a result of the crash as of Wednesday morning. Ten others are hospitalized, including two people listed in critical condition.

UPS released the following statement:

We are terribly saddened by the accident tonight in Louisville. Our heartfelt thoughts are with everyone involved. UPS is committed to the safety of our employees, our customers and the communities we serve. This is particularly true in Louisville, home to our airline and thousands of UPSers.

We are engaged with the National Transportation Safety Board’s (NTSB) investigation of the accident and are staying in close contact with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). We will work tirelessly with state and local authorities on response efforts.

The investigation into the cause of the crash will be led by NTSB and FAA.
