The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s (CVSA) released results from the International Roadcheck inspection effort that took place in May 2025.
On October 7, 2025, the CVSA released results from the 72-hour International Roadcheck inspection campaign that took place in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico on May 13 — 15, 2025.
During this year’s Roadcheck effort, approximately 13 vehicles per minute were inspected throughout North America.
During the three-day effort, a total of 56,178 commercial motor vehicle, driver, and cargo inspections were conducted, resulting in the following:
The CVSA noted that “most of the vehicles (81.6%) and drivers (94.1%) inspected did not have any out-of-service violations.”
Each year, Roadcheck inspectors focus on a vehicle and driver area of emphasis for added enforcement. This year, the vehicle focus was tires and the driver focus was false records of duty status (RODS).
This year, Roadcheck inspectors found 2,899 tire-related out-of-service vehicle violations, the second most-cited out-of-service vehicle violation, after brake systems

Inspectors found 332 RODS violations, making up 10% of all driver out-of-service violations.
The top vehicle out-of-service violation for Roadcheck 2025 was for brakes, with 3,304 out-of-service brake system violations, 24.4% of all vehicle out-of-service violations.
