Two men carjack semi truck during televised police chase in LA

Two men carjacked multiple vehicles during a televised police chase across LA that started on Sunday night and ended with the two men escaping.

The incident started on Sunday night, August 10th in Los Angeles, California.

According to Fox 11, the two suspects started the pursuit in a stolen pickup truck before getting a flat tire on the freeway. The two men then approached a car to steal it, but the motorist locked their doors before the men could get inside. The two men then approached a bobtail semi truck, but the truck driver threw it in reverse on the highway and avoided the suspects.

The two men eventually rammed straight into the front of a white semi truck hauling a tanker filled with milk and carjacked the driver, taking the semi truck along the 5 Freeway near Sylmar.

Just after 11:30 p.m. the two men abandoned the tractor trailer in downtown LA and stole a white pickup truck. The two men in the pickup truck then led police on a televised police chase through parts of Sylmar, Santa Clarita, North Hollywood, Hollywood, Hollywood Hills, Echo Park, downtown Los Angeles, Westlake and Boyle Heights.

Footage of the police chase shows the motorist who locked their doors just in time, the bobtail driver throwing it in reverse, and the milk tanker driver jumping out of his rig in shock as the two men climb inside and drive away.

The two suspects eventually abandoned the white semi truck and successfully evaded police. It is unclear if the two men were picked up by someone they knew, or stealthily stole another vehicle and drove away. The men have still not been found.
