Two truck drivers killed in head-on crash on Missouri highway

Two truck drivers lost their lives in a collision in Barton County, Missouri, on Friday morning.

The crash occurred at 10:17 a.m. on February 21 on Highway 43, 12 miles southwest of Lamar, according to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP).

Troopers say that a 2016 Kenworth tractor trailer was southbound on Highway 43 when it crossed over the center line and struck a northbound 2021 Freightliner box truck head-on.

The Freightliner caught fire after the crash.

Both truck drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Freightliner has been identified as a 45 year old male from Joplin, Missouri. The Kenworth driver was identified as a 65 year old male from Knob Knoster, Missouri.

The crash is under investigation.
