Gwinnett County Police (GCP) out of Georgia shared video of a close call involving a semi truck and police officers that was sparked by a motorist who failed to slow.
GCP described the events leading to the crash:
“On November 4, 2025, officers with the West Precinct Community Response Team were conducting a traffic stop on I-85 just south of the Steve Reynolds Blvd on ramp. As traffic slowed to merge around the police activity, a vehicle driven by Domarius Williams failed to slow down and struck the rear of another car, pushing it underneath a tractor trailer.
The impact caused the tractor trailer to swerve into the exact area where officers had been standing only seconds before. Thankfully, no officers were injured, and the occupants of the involved vehicles sustained only minor injuries.
Williams was cited for following too closely, driving while license suspended, and having an improper license plate cover.
This incident is a reminder of the dangers officers face during roadside encounters and the importance of slowing down and using caution when approaching emergency lights.“
