A construction company shared stunning video of a truck falling into a body of water due to the sudden collapse of the shoreline underneath.
The video was captured on August 26, 2025, at Nitinaht Lake on the coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.
According to Roc-Star Enterprises Ltd., crews were at work on a fish habitat restoration project when a “serious unexpected shoreline collapse” occurred at the work site, “resulting in the submersion of a truck.”
“Thankfully the experienced operator was also an experienced swimmer and was able to exit the vehicle and swim to safety without injury. He handled the situation remarkably well. This event underscores the critical importance of continuous risk assessment in dynamic environments, particularly when working in or near water. Roc-Star is working closely with relevant agencies and conducting a full investigation to understand the contributing factors and prevent future occurrences,” the company said.
The CBC confirms that the incident is under investigation by safety agency WorkSafeBC.
