Washington troopers put commercial vehicle out-of-service for being 10K pounds overweight, missing lug nuts, and more

The Washington State Patrol (WSP) discovered several serious violations on a commercial vehicle traveling on I-5.

According to a July 15 statement from the WSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Bureau, a pickup with an attached trailer “was rolling down I-5 in Everett with serious issues.”

A closer look at the vehicle revealed several violations, including:

  • 10K lbs over limit
  • No breakaway cable
  • No trailer brakes
  • Worn safety chain
  • Overweight on all 4 trailer tires
  • Tire rubbing frame
  • Missing lug nuts

WSP says that the vehicle was taken out-of-service and that citations were issued for the various violations.
